Lena Dunham's on a roll! Girls creator working on next comedy series looking at the life of a legendary New York stylist

Girls creator Lena Dunham is reportedly working on a new HBO series, this time about the confessions of a celebrated Bergdorf Goodman celebrity stylist. 
According to Deadline, the 26-year-old actress and filmmaker has set her sights on All Dressed Up and Everywhere to Go, a memoir written by Betty Halbreich, who has spent decades working with socialites and famous elite at the department store.
The 85-year-old Bergdorf’s employee has had a long and noteworthy career, having styled the likes of Meryl Streep, Sarah Jessica Parker, Glenn Close and Katie Couric.

She has also been consulted on the aesthetics for Broadway shows, HBO series Sex and the City and some early Woody Allen films.
Ms Halbreich has been called a ‘New York City institution’, having dressed three generations of the rich and famous since she began her personal shopping service in 1976.

 

Deadline reports that Chicago-born Ms Heibrich is known as much for her eye for fashion as she is for her 'unpretentious attitude and tart one-liners' - attributes that will no doubt work well with Miss Dunham's directorial vision.

Her upcoming autobiography delves into the stories and secrets of the high fashion world.

The New York Times confirmed today that HBO has optioned the memoir for a television series, and that Miss Dunham and her Girls co-executive producer Jenni Konner will be involved.

The hit television show - chronicling the lives and loves of a group of twenty-somethings in New York City - is in its second series.
